Georgia
As Georgia's educational landscape evolves, Walch Education is working closely with districts and educators across the Peach State. We are monitoring the roll-out of revisions to the Georgia Performance Standards and the stringent graduation requirements, including the GHSGT.
We understand the challenges, and we recognize that Georgia educators require materials and programs that address Georgia Performance Standards. They also look for user-friendly, flexible, and cost-efficient programs.
Our responses to Georgia's unique situation are specific and effective:
- Our new Georgia Academic Support Programs for Middle School Mathematics, Grades 6, 7, and 8 was created in partnership with
the Fulton County School System. This 4-week summer school program produced impressive results, with 280 students showing an
average increase of 37%, and some classrooms achieving 92% gains. It is now available to districts throughout the state. An
updated version, for the new 8th grade Georgia Performance Standards, is also now available
- Our new Station Activities for Georgia Mathematics, available for grades 6, 7, and 8, targets Georgia Mathematics Performance
Standards. This program has become a popular method for teaching mathematics through small-group, hands-on experiences. It has
already been purchased by Fayette County.
- We have developed a Georgia Academic Support Program for Science
for DeKalb County. The "Science ASP" is written for GHSGT prep during summer school. Please contact us for a review copy.
- We offer professional development so that Georgia educators can more effectively understand and implement Walch Education
programs.
- We regularly provide on-call assistance for partners, districts, and schools.
We exhibit and present at the annual conferences of organizations such as the Georgia Middle School Association
and the Georgia Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
